Mother's Day 2026 is on Sunday, May 10. All around the Reno area, you'll find Mother's Day full of opportunities to treat Mom and show her what a special lady she is. In addition to these activities, don't forget about taking Mom out for "Mother's Day Brunch and Dining in Reno and Sparks."

Saturday and Sunday, May 9 - 10, 2026. Bring Mom to the Nevada Museum of Art on her day to enjoy brunch at Perenn from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. With paid admission, you can also tour the Museum and view the exhibits. Need a gift for Mom? The Museum Store is open for both online and in-person shopping. Museum members save 10%. Saturday, May 9, is Hands ON! Second Saturday, with free admission all day and lots of family activities to enjoy with Mom.

Saturday and Sunday, May 9 - 10, 2026, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum will be open on Mother's Day. Mom might enjoy exploring this exciting place with the kids. There's always plenty of entertaining and educational things to do for both adults and children. Two crafts on Saturday are Mother's Day LED cards and Mother's Day flower arranging. The crafts on Sunday in Spark!Lab Smithsonian is "Invent a Spaceship," and Mother's Day LED cards.

Saturday and Sunday, May 9 - 10, 2026. The historic Glenbrook locomotive will be offering rides during Mother's Day weekend. Adult fare is $12 for ages 12 and over, $6 for ages 4 to 11 and museum, free for ages 3 and under. Ride hours are 10 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., go inside the Jacobsen Interpretive Center for Family STEAM Sunday featuring science and art programming. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 for 18 and over, children 17 and younger are free. The Museum is located at 2180 S. Carson Street in Carson City. (775) 687-6953.

Sunday, May 10, 2026, starting at 9 a.m. Moms on the Run is a non-profit which raises money to help northern Nevada women with cancer. The event features a 4 mile walk for all ages and paces. There will be pre-walk family activities before the walk begins. Visit the website for more details and to register online. This event will be at Damonte Ranch High School, 10500 Rio Wrangler Parkway in Reno. NO DOGS.

Sunday, May 10, 2026, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Boutique is brought to you by Riverside Farmers Market. It will be at 2055 Idlewild Dr., Idlewild Park in Reno. This fun day out with Mom will feature 100+ local artists and artisans, kid's play village, free yoga classes, food trucks, family photos, live music and much more. Just about every Mom likes movies. You might treat her to a fancy show at the IMAX theater in Sparks or take her to any of numerous theaters throughout the area.. For an out-of-this-world experience, take her to the Fleischmann Planetarium.

Experience something as unique as she is with our steam train rides. Tickets are $75 for adults, $45 for children ages 2 to 15 and free for kids 2 and under when sitting on an adult's lap. Also available are VIP tables and private rooms for up to 15 people. Sunday, May 10, 2026. Treat Mom to a cruise aboard the MS Dixie II and enjoy spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. Daytime scenic cruises on Mother's Day are free for both moms and kids. Visit the website for details and online tickets. There are also a morning brunch buffet and sunset wine tasting cruises on this day. The M.S. Dixie II sails from Zephyr Cove, on the Nevada side a few miles from Stateline and South Lake Tahoe.
